Tundra Semiconductor furthers Commitment to Serial Rapidio(R)

Tundra has worked with RapidIO technology since the standard was first introduced and is one of the founders of the RapidIO Trade Association. A key member of the RapidIO ecosystem and the first company to bring RapidIO System Interconnect products to market, Tundra plays a lead role in delivering next- generation System Interconnect products for its communication OEM customers. Customers building equipment for wireless and communication infrastructure will design using this type of device.

STRENGTHENING THE RAPIDIO ECOSYSTEM

RapidIO switches are central to the RapidIO system architecture. Today's bus-based system architectures are reaching their performance limits. RapidIO, a switch fabric-based architecture, delivers the scalability and high- performance functionality demanded by next-generation systems. Serial RapidIO is a point-to-point technology that requires a switch in systems that need more than two processing or bridging elements.
